Activities
A1 – Engagement Partners and Sustainable Villages Insights
A1 represents a pivotal Transnational Project Meeting that brings together all project partners in the natural setting of Azuébar. This 1-day event serves as a platform for collaboratively identifying activities deeply rooted in rural environments, with a particular focus on their potential to contribute significantly to climate change mitigation.
A2 – Training on climate change and sustainability in rural areas (for adult trainers)
A2 introduces an innovative and inclusive training programme designed specifically for adult trainers in rural communities, with a focus on climate change, sustainability, and enhancing the well-being of elderly populations. A2 engages trainers from 3 partner municipalities (Azuébar, Fontecchio, and Alte) in shedding light on some behaviours and lifestyles that are typical in rural areas and inherently contribute to the establishment of a more sustainable and resilient society.
TRAINING SEMINAR EXECUTION: A three-day, face-to-face seminar will be held. The seminar curriculum will encompass various interactive elements, workshops, participatory discussions, and field visits.
A3 – Designing Innovative Learning Spaces in Natural Environments Using Digital Tools (Participatory Process and Digital Maps)
A3 focuses on the design of innovative natural learning spaces. This initiative, led by EPALTE in collaboration with local municipalities, aims to blend environmental education with digital engagement, establishing unique educational pathways in each village that highlight sustainable living practices and local biodiversity. This achievement is made possible through the collaborative efforts of each village’s local municipalities, drawing upon their extensive knowledge of the respective territories.
PARTICIPATORY PROCESS: This phase is characterised by an inclusive approach, engaging both elderly and young community members alongside local stakeholders in the design of the pathways.
A4 – Sustainable Living Insights: Creating Multimedia Educational Resources
A4 pivots towards the hands-on production of multimedia educational content, capturing the essence of sustainable living through the lens of intergenerational wisdom and contemporary digital storytelling. This activity harnesses the insights gathered from previous phases, particularly the sustainable living practices identified in A1 and interesting points and topics detected in A3, to create compelling narratives and visual content.
Young community members will work closely with the older generation, gathering stories, practices, and insights through interviews, conversations, and joint planning sessions. They will create a Content Plan and start the production of diverse multimedia materials such as short films, digital stories, and interactive infographics.
A5 – Sustainable lifestyles Reflection Journey
In this interactive session, participants utilising the pathways will delve into the essence of sustainable living through engaging activities and thought-provoking questions. Leveraging the educational pathways crafted in A3, along with themes identified in A1 and A2, and integrating audiovisual elements from A4, this activity aims to foster deep reflection and self-assessment regarding one’s lifestyle choices and their impact on the environment and society with an interactive quiz.
A6 – Implementation and networking event – Acting with the itinerary at EU level
A6 is the main activity of the project and enclosures the work done in previous activities. It will be held in 2 stages, a first one where villages implement the pathways and a second one that will take place in Fontecchio to reflect about the national experiences.
The project will culminate in a final international meeting, bringing together all partner organisations to collectively reflect on the experiences gained, identify commonalities and differences observed during the testing phase, and explore opportunities for improvement and scalability. All partner organisations will come together to share their experiences, insights, and outcomes from the testing phase.
A7 – Communication and impact
NATIONAL EVENTS TO TEST THE PATHWAY
The primary outcome of A6 involves the organisation and execution of 3 national events, one in each participating country and organised by each local member (Azuebar, Alte, and Fontecchio). These events serve as crucial testing grounds for the sustainable tourism pathways developed throughout the project. Key expected results include:
PARTICIPANTS
- Local Residents: at least 20 local residents from each community will engage in testing the first route within the village.
- Local Participants from other Villages and Visitors: residents from other villages or tourists will join the event. This exchange of participants from different rural areas enriches the experience.
